The F35 easily fits most manual folding and rigid wheelchairs. Please refer to the Compatibility Guide on the Sunrise Medical website. The Compatibility Guide lists all chairs for which a combination agreement exists. The list is an indication of the wheelchair models to which the F35 can be attached. See also the "Docking Information" section of the Compatibility Guide. Here you will find more information about the requirements for attaching the F35 to your wheelchair. Frame shape, CoG, wheel size, and seat depth are all factors. In addition, a straight section of frame tube of at least 35 mm is required to attach the clamps. Therefore, it is essential to try and test to be 100% sure! Or ask your dealer for advice. In general, the F35 can be adapted to wheelchairs with front frame widths of 260 - 480 mm.
The F35 is a small, versatile, highly maneuverable, and transportable pulling device that is intended for in- and urban outdoor use that convinces with a very small turning circle in- and outdoors. Ideal for urban environments and for navigating busy streets, public transportation, and other urban obstacles with greater ease.
"Maximum forward speed is 6 km/h. 10 km/h or 15 km/h are available as options. Use of the F35 with a maximum speed setting higher than 6 km/h is only permitted on public roads in certain countries, and otherwise only on private property. Without a permit (attached to the order form and to be signed before ordering), the F35 may not be used on public roads, bicycle lanes, or sidewalks following traffic laws. You should check your country's laws regarding use and your legal obligation to insure the F35 at speeds higher than 6 km/h (10/15 km/h). When traveling with your F35, always check the specific laws of the country you're traveling in."
For optimal battery life, the battery should be stored at a temperature of 10°C to 25°C and a humidity of 20% to 75%. Ideally, the battery should be kept at about 75% charge. If the battery is stored for too long at a low charge, the voltage inside the battery will drop so dramatically that a deep discharge can occur, permanently damaging the battery. To wake up the battery from sleep mode after a long period of inactivity (2 weeks), press the button above the USB charging port.
The F35 is designed for use on a variety of surfaces, but its effectiveness may vary. We recommend checking the product specifications to understand the unit's performance on different surfaces. You can also easily change the drive mode from slow to low to fast to adapt the performance to different surfaces.
With clamps on the front frame of the wheelchair. In general, the F35 can be adapted to wheelchairs with front frame widths of 260 - 480 mm. Please refer to the "Docking Information" section of the Compatibility Guide. Here you will find more information about the requirements for attaching the F35 to your wheelchair, as frame shape, CoG, wheel size and seat depth are all factors.
"The F35 is designed with user-friendly controls for active wheelchair users who have adequate upper body strength & hand function to maneuver effectively. However, ease of operation can depend on individual preferences and abilities. Please check with your healthcare professional if the Empulse F35 is a good pull device for you. Features that support the easy and comfortable usage of your F35 are among others:
the assistive Cruise Control which holds the set speed on inclines
the Dual brake system with a proportional electrical and a mechanical drum brake
the strong parking brake
the reverse gear will always change acceleration mode to STD
the fact that the battery is going into deep sleep mode after two weeks to protect the battery from deep discharge
the bright LED light lights your way and all brakes do cut off the cruise control
Furthermore, the F35 is also fully compliant with EN12184 testing because your safety is our priority.
The F35 is generally designed to be lightweight to minimize the impact on the overall weight of the wheelchair. The Empulse F35 weighs 9 kg including battery and subframe. However, for ease of loading, the F35 can be disassembled into two lightweight parts and then offers a lifting weight of only 7.5 kg (for the main unit), the subframe weighs only 1.5 kg. The clamps that remain on the wheelchair weigh approximately 700 grams.
There are two ways to detach the F35 from the wheelchair:
"The Quickest”: This innovative feature allows for quick release with a patent-pending, effortless, one-motion docking mechanism, perfect for quick stops during daily activities. It allows you to easily detach the F35 from the receiver while leaving the subframe attached to the chair. This method is ideal for short breaks, such as visiting a coffee shop or attending classes or meetings. Plus, it only takes seconds to reattach the F35 when you need to use it again.
"For Storage”: When it's time to move from the wheelchair to the car, couch, or bed, the F35 offers an easy solution. Convenient clamps allow you to easily remove the entire unit from your chair. Simply detach the main tube and subframe from the chair for a seamless solution to storing your F35 until you need it again.
The Nitrum was designed and developed with input from wheelchair users, who also tested the product and provided feedback. The outcome was the development of a system which needs less force to tightly tense the upholstery; this system is referred to as a “block-and-tackle” routing of the straps. The upholstery is easy to adjust, does not shift, and remains comfortable! There are two versions available – the standard seat upholstery with tension adjustable, breathable fabric and the strap-style design for improved breathability and less weight. Like with any rigid wheelchair, a cushion is used on top of the seat sling for optimum seating and positioning.
The Nitrum is a rigid wheelchair, which means that it does not have a crossbrace for folding laterally. However, the back posts of the Nitrum can fold easily to create a compact unit for transporting the wheelchair. The open frame makes it easier to load into a car.
With the use of only one hand and a single movement, the back posts can fold down by twisting the release bar. This is a patented feature and available only on the QUICKIE Nitrum!
Bilateral, integrated LED lights which are a first for manual wheelchairs! No more holding your phone as a flashlight while trying to wheel into a dark room or navigating dark streets at night.
You will also find a newly engineered caster link: a unique, one-piece design of hollow-forged aluminum designed to optimize the position of the caster. Because each frame configuration has its own, proprietary version of the caster link, you’ll experience better handling, turning, front-stability and propulsion efficiency with the QUICKIE Nitrum. Last but not least, we carefully weld the caster-link to the frame for a durable, super-stiff connection.
Overall, the QUICKIE Nitrum has been designed for transferring energy of propulsion into movement with every detail, right down to the weight savings on the reinforced compact wheel lock.
The QUICKIE Nitrum offers 3 choices in frame inset: standard (0 mm), small (10 mm) and performance (30 mm). This refers to the amount that the front frame, where the feet are positioned, is tapered relative to the seat width. The amount of taper will determine the front frame width and affects the maneuverability in tight spaces, the ability to get close for transfers, and the positioning for the lower extremities.
There are several color choices to choose from. Check our website for the most up-to-date options available for the frame, caster fork, caster wheel, back upholstery trim, rim and hub of rear wheel. Click on the color choices on the website to see unique combinations before your Nitrum wheelchair is ordered.
