The front frame angle on a rigid wheelchair affects positioning of the feet and legs (i.e., how close the feet are positioned to the wheelchair frame). The front frame angle also affects the wheelchair’s front-stability, and turning radius. To achieve the optimized configuration for each individual, the Nitrum offers 3 choices for its front frame angle: 100°, 92°, and 88°.
Over time, a traditional upholstery seat sling can begin to sag and lose its shape. The tension-adjustable straps on the seat sling can be adjusted easily and in a single movement so that the seat sling remains taut for improved pelvic support and positioning. You can even use the seat-sling for positioning, such as placing the pelvis lower than the thighs for additional postural stability.
The overall weight of the wheelchair is one of the factors that contribute to rolling resistance. When the rolling resistance of the wheelchair is reduced, the efficiency of propulsion increases. With fewer push strokes and less force required to propel the wheelchair itself, fatigue for the user is decreased.
Even more important is the aspect of transport and independence; lighter wheelchairs are easier to lift in and out of your vehicle.
The Nitrum is the lightest adjustable aluminum rigid wheelchair in its class. Its weight starts from 7,5 kg only.
All aspects of the chair were reviewed and designed from a weight-saving and rigidity perspective. The ovalized tubings and the 7020 series aerospace aluminum allows us to use less material and reduce the weight with high strength at the same time. To assist you in ordering the lightest possible wheelchair, we indicate the approximate weight-increase of the options on the order form:
(L) Indicates the lightest possible option within the range of options
(+) Indicates that this option adds more than 500 g to the wheelchair´s weight compared to the lightest option within the range
The QUICKIE Nitrum is made from 7020 aerospace aluminum, which makes for a high strength-to-weight ratio. This makes the Nitrum durable, yet lightweight.
The QUICKIE Nitrum is available in seat widths of 320 – 500 mm and depths of 340 – 500 mm.

It should be foldable for small spaces and have a low weight to avoid manoeuvring effort. There are also rollators without wheels that are primarily intended for indoor use, which is why they are called walking aids.
